A Dead Heat at the Top, Again

For the second time in a few weeks, the week of September 28 to October 5 ended with two technicians sharing the top spot. Shaphan Hawks of ASAP Appliance Repair logged 19 repairs. Alex C of Integrity Services matched him with exactly 19. The rest of the platform had a quiet week, but the top of the leaderboard did not.

Hawks brings the longer résumé. His weekly streak now stands at 29, the longest of any tech we checked. Alex C's streak is 17 weeks, so Hawks leads by 12. Behind them, Nick Harko of Good Tech Appliance took third with 13 repairs plus 2 maintenance jobs. He sits 6 repairs behind the leaders and has a 10-week streak of his own. Together the top three did 51 of the platform's 86 repairs.

Fridges Double Up

The week's category story belongs to Electrolux refrigerators. They topped the platform with 6 jobs, up from 3 the week before (+100%), and tied LG washers for the most active category. Hawks and Harko each repaired 2 Electrolux fridges to share the category lead, with Danny Gutierrez and Luke Miller following at 1 each. GE dishwashers posted the biggest percentage gain among the leading categories, jumping from 1 job to 4 (+300%), and Hawks led that category with 2 repairs.

Cooling Off and Coming Back

Last week's Samsung surge faded quickly. Samsung refrigerators fell from 6 jobs to 1 (-83%), and Samsung dryers dropped from 5 to 1 (-80%). Whirlpool slipped too. Its washers went from 5 jobs to 1, and its refrigerators went from 8 to 5 (-37%), though that was still enough to make Whirlpool the second-busiest fridge brand.

Frigidaire made its return. Its refrigerators came back with 3 jobs after a zero week, and its ranges added 2. Both categories have history on the platform, so this is a comeback, not a debut. Bosch refrigerators also returned with 2 jobs after a zero week, and the brand has been on the platform since April.

A New Name on the Board

Wolf ovens made their first appearance. The first job on record landed September 29, and the category finished the week with 2. Luke Miller and Victor Acosta each took one. Acosta, of Tammy's Appliance Repair, handled his Wolf oven as part of 8 repairs and carries an 11-week streak. Miller's streak is 3 weeks.

The Chasing Pack

Further down the board, Danny Gutierrez logged 6 repairs and has a 20-week streak, the second-longest of the group. Marco Palacios also logged 6 repairs, with a 12-week streak. Vasilii Kirillov of SET Appliance posted 7 repairs and a 9-week streak.

Scouting was thin. Just 1 inspection was logged, against 86 repairs and 2 maintenance jobs, so the scouting crown is wide open.

The Week Ahead

With 89 jobs on the board, the week was quiet overall, but the top spot is still tied. Next week we'll be watching to see whether Hawks or Alex C breaks the 19-repair deadlock, and whether Nick Harko keeps closing in.
